ClearVision and the Optical Women’s Association have teamed up to seed dreams—and I’m honored to have mine among them.
My project stems from a deeply personal place: dementia. It touches so many, including my own family. My father, who worked in eye care until age 93, is now in the late stages of dementia. This work honors him—and all the precious lives often forgotten. We can, and must, do better.
After 45 years in this industry, passion still fuels me: to connect, to lead, and to lift others. I’ve used the tools and strategies gained throughout my career to help others rise. But now, I’m investing in myself—to grow into the business owner I know I can be. How about you—when was the last time you watered your own roots?
Yes, the monetary support is a gift. But even more powerful is the opportunity to expand connections and scale the impact. That’s what excites me most.
At 60, I can look back and truly connect the dots I placed with intention 40 years ago. This grant isn’t a finish line. It’s a spotlight on the idea that we don’t retire—we rewire.
CHEERS, Karen
